FAQ

INFORMATION & RESOURCES

If you have a question, we’d prefer to answer it over the phone – so we can make sure you get a complete answer that relates to your specific packaging project. Please contact us by email or call 01462 636465.

What information do I need to get a quote from you?

Every product is different. To get a highly competitive quote on your product packaging, please call us on 01462 636465 or email us and one of our experienced consultants will take you through the process.

What is your minimum order?

We aim to be flexible – we have no minimum order and will be very happy to help, however many cartons you need.

What’s your lead-time?

We prioritise the needs of our customers. So we don’t tell you how long it’s going to take; instead, you tell us when you need it. Although our standard lead-time is between three and six weeks, our shortest ever lead-time has been 6 hours from the first estimate to the customer signing the delivery paperwork.

Where do you ship the cartons, once they’re printed?

Anywhere from Timbuktu (Mali, West Africa) to Shoreditch (East London, UK). Let us know where you’d like your cartons delivered, and we’ll include an itemised freight cost in your estimate.

Do you sell corrugated cardboard boxes?

We make fluted cartons, made from microflute material – thinner and lighter than corrugated board but very strong.

How do I measure a carton?

To measure up for a simple carton, it’s easy as pie. Just measure the length, width, and depth (or height) of your product, in millimetres. We will then add three millimetres to each dimension and this will form the internal measurement for your carton.
Bear in mind though, that many products may require more complex packaging. If you are in any doubt as to the size specifications of your box, we have specialists on hand to help.

What is the difference between UV, Aqueous Coating, and Varnish?

An aqueous coating is a water-based, fast drying sealant that protects the printed product from rubbing and gives a gloss or matte texture to the print, and resists yellowing. Due to its water base, aqueous coating is more environmentally friendly than varnish or UV coatings.
A UV coating is a clear liquid that is dried upon application by an ultraviolet light. It leaves a high gloss sheen and provides maximum levels of protection to the printed material. Once the coating has been applied, the material will be resistant to other inks such as writing.
A varnish is essentially an ink without pigment, providing a protective coating that can be matt, satin or gloss.
Bridger Packaging offers UV and Aqueous coatings and varnishes, as well as a range of other coatings.

Can your paperboard cartons be recycled?

We aim to help all our customers increase their packaging’s sustainability, and improve environmental responsibility. All the paperboard we use is recyclable, and around 60% of our paperboard is already made from recycled materials.
